Trade and economic cooperation (Brunei)

Trade and economic cooperation (TEC) is given priority in the Ukraine - Brunei relations. This takes into account peculiarities of Brunei non-significant internal market as well as its mono-potential (energy) and investment priorities.

Legal basis of bilateral TEC consists of the Agreement on Encouragement and Reciprocal Protection of Investments and Memorandum of Understanding between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on Cooperation in the Field of Defence. Parties plan to start working on the Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation in 2014.

State visit of President of Ukraine to Brunei in 2011 outlined most perspective areas of TEC between the two countries:

- Agriculture;

- Transportation and Infrastructure;

- Investment;

- Military and technical cooperation.

Participation of the SC Ukrspecexport in Bridex-2013 contributeв to trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Brunei in military-technical sphere in particular.
