The Mission of Ukraine to the EU, together with the South Asia Democratic Forum (SADF), will hold a discussion on Ukraine’s strong potential to preserve and improve food security in the world, which is severely threatened as a result of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine.
The representatives of the Ukrainian Government, European Commission and international organisation will present the current state-of-play on food exports from Ukraine to both the EU and third countries, alternative transport routes for the export of Ukrainian agriproducts, the initiative of EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes for grain exports as well as further steps to boost food exports from Ukraine to ensure global food.
The event aims to demonstrate that Ukraine remains a reliable supplier of the food on global markets, in particular to Asia and Africa. Ukraine together with the European Union apply all efforts to overcome the current food crisis by establishing new sustainable routes for Ukrainian agrarian export, heavily disrupted by the Russian war.
The discussion will be moderated by Mr Paulo CASACA – Executive Director of SADF and will include guest speakers from the Ukrainian Government and the EU Commission.
The event will take place in a hybrid form (both online & onsite at SADF headquarters). The webinar will run on Webex.
