On 19 February 2013 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Singapore Pavlo Sultansky and Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Ukraine Simon Tensing De Cruz signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of a Consultative Mechanism between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore. The Memorandum was signed following the agreements reached during the State of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych Visit to the Republic of Singapore in March 2011.

Implementation of the Memorandum will strengthen friendly Ukraine-Singapore relations and facilitate comprehensive dialogue on political, economic, cultural and other fields of common interest.

According to the Memorandum two Foreign Ministries will elaborate an agenda which would allow involving of all concerned institutions of the parties to negotiations.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of FA of Singapore Bilahari Kausikan took part in the event. He said that conclusion of the Memorandum was an important bilateral event and a practical outcome of understanding reached between the two heads of States in the key areas of cooperation.
