Commemorative activities to honour the victims of Holodomor (Great Famine) of 1932-1933 in Ukraine took place in Singapore.
On 22 November a mourning ceremony and "Light a Candle" action were held in the Embassy of Ukraine in Singapore. A minute of silence was observed to commemorate millions of the genocide victims. The crimes against humanity of 1932-1933 in Ukraine committed by the bolshevik regime were highlighted.
On 23 November a mass in memory of the victims of famine organized by the Stalin's regime was held in the Parish of Dormition of Theotokos, Russian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate in Singapore.
On the same day the priest of the Church of Saints Peter and Paul addressed to parishioners with a sermon, inter alia he accused the brutal Stalin's regime of crimes against humanity and genocide through which millions of Ukrainians died of starvation. He urged Singaporeans and Ukrainian community in Singapore to do everything to prevent such tragedies in the future.
The stuff of the Embassy of Ukraine with their families and Ukrainians living in Singapore attended both masses along with parishioners.
