In addition to the overall assessment of the elections and their preliminary results in Ukraine, the channel’s anchor asked whether the newly elected president will be able to unite the country. In response it was noted that the Ukrainian nation was forced to wake up by the previous president of Ukraine, although he didn’t intended to. And the current head of the neighboring country by his aggression has made Ukrainians a more statehood nation. So, the task of the new president of Ukraine is to strengthen this process.

When asked whether the newly elected Ukrainian president will meet Mr. Putin, Ambassador said that such a meeting should be preceded by the withdrawal of Russian forces from the occupied Crimean peninsula and discontinuation of any support by Moscow of gangs on Ukrainian territory.

Answering the question whether the Russian president’s words on his willingness to accept the election results are trustable, it was emphasized: the last weeks, months and even years, Mr. Putin not once spoke about Ukraine, and it turned out to be one lie after another. Remarkably, in 2008 he publicly said what he actually thought about Ukraine – an "artificial" state. From this point of view one should evaluate his words and doings.
