On December 14, 2014 the St. Joseph Cathedral – one of the largest Catholic churches in Singapore – hosted the annual ceremony of the Christmas Tree decoration with the national symbols of countries where large Catholic communities live.
The President of Singapore Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam and his spouse graced the event.
The Cathedral Choir of the Risen Christ conducted by Sir Peter Low gave the performance and, among others, sang the famous Ukrainian carol.
This time, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Singapore Pavlo Sultansky was the first among the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Singapore to be invited to decorate the Christmas Tree with the Ukrainian national symbols.
Also, the Choir performed world-known song “We shall overcome” eloquently raising the anti-war slogans.
