On March 15, 2015 a large-scale international charity bazaar organized by the Singapore Red Cross Society was held in Singapore having gathered about two dozens of diplomatic missions, numerous local companies and organizations – sponsors of the event.
Ukraine was vividly represented at the event due to the common efforts of the Ukrainian Club of Singapore and the Embassy of Ukraine. The variety of home-cooked Ukrainian dishes and national souvenirs, including hand-made, were displayed.
The amateur group of Ukrainians presented dance "Jolly wives" for the first time at the Singapore Red Cross charity event evoking the shouts: "Glory to Ukraine! – Glory to the heroes!"
Ambassador of Ukraine Pavlo Sultansky approached the President of Singapore Dr Tony Tan, who came to congratulate the participants. He said that it had been not for the first time that local Ukrainians helped to raise funds for charity. He also thanked for Singapore’s support of Ukraine on the international arena and in particular for the recent Singapore Red Cross’ financial aid given to people in Ukraine who were internally displaced as a result of the Russian-terrorists’ aggression. President T.Tan and Chairman of the Singapore Red Cross Society Tee Tua Ba agreed that such good-will is worth continuing.
The Red Cross informed that Ukrainian stall helped to raise S$1552 for charity.
