On May 8, Ukraine and other nations across the globe mark the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation to commemorate the victims of World War II.
We honor the memory of millions of people whose lives were taken by the tyranny and oppression, people of all races and nations, men and women, soldiers and civilians, children and old people — all those who died and all those who survived and went through all circles of hell of the World War II.
As one of the epicenters of military battles, Ukraine suffered heavily and lost millions of lives. As a result of hostilities, more than 700 Ukrainian cities and tens of thousands of villages were destroyed.
At the Cenotaph War Memorial in Singapore Ukrainian diplomats paid tribute to fallen heroes and those who helped fight for peace.
