Within the framework of the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, Ambassador of Ukraine to Brunei Darussalam (non-resident) Kateryna Zelenko launched the first “Ukrainian Bookshelf” in the library of the Brunei Language and Literature Bureau.

During the ceremony, the Ambassador familiarized the participants with the collection of donated books on various topics - history, country studies, culture and art of Ukraine, books by Ukrainian authors for children, etc.

Ambassador Zelenko thanked the Government of Brunei for its support and cooperation in the implementation of this project and noted that the donated literature “will bring Ukraine closer to the hearts of Brunei readers.” 

The ceremony was also attended by Pengiran Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Halus, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Brunei, and Haji Mohd Ali bin Haji Radin, Acting Director of the Brunei Language and Literature Bureau. They noted that this event is an important milestone in the development of bilateral cultural dialogue, will serve to develop friendly relations between Ukraine and Brunei, and will help bring our countries and peoples closer.
