17 April 2013, Ambassador of Ukraine in Singapore Pavlo Sultansky paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Singapore Halimah Yacob.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere they discussed bilateral cooperation matters, situation in Ukraine and Singapore, as well as challenges that both countries authorities face.

H.Yacob shared her view on priorities in allocation of the 2013 budget funds, among which education, health and support of the most vulnerable strata of society. She gave explanation of “Our Singapore Conversation” as being instrumental for public’s participation in uncovering weak points and finding best decisions.

The Speaker backed proposal to restore parliamentary exchanges, including at the level of heads of legislative bodies of Ukraine and Singapore, and the interaction between MPs.

H.Yacob praised the Embassy’s efforts in promoting cultural and humanitarian exchanges which bring Ukraine closer to Singapore, and pledged her support in this area. She, inter alia, recollected with sympathy her participation in Ukraine’s reception on the occasion of the 20^th Anniversary of Independence.
