47th Memorial Service in Commemoration of the Civilian Victims of the Japanese Occupation of Singapore

The 47th Memorial Service in Commemoration of the Civilian Victims of the Japanese Occupation (1942-1945) was held on 15 February 2014 inSingapore participated by representatives of public agencies, schools, communities and businesses.
Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Singapore Armed Forces Veteran’s League, religious organizations, National Cadet Corps and children from different schools laid the wreath to the War Memorial monument.
The participants joined the one-minute Silent Prayer by the Inter-Religious Organization and honoured the innocent victims of war by three bows.
The foreign diplomatic corps traditionally takes part in this event of commemoration and reconciliation. Consul of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Singapore N.Zhynkina represented Ukrainian diplomatic mission at the ceremony.
