On June 24, 2014 Ukraine's Ambassador to Singapore Pavlo Sultansky was received by the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Singapore Mdm Halimah Yacob.

Singaporean politician re-confirmed her country’s firm and clear position on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasized the unacceptability of annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by Moscow.

The Speaker expressed her wishes for the Peaceful Plan of the President P.Poroshenko to be implemented successfully thus bringing de-escalation to the Eastern regions of Ukraine. Tortures, kidnapping, use of civilians as a live shield, shooting from the residential areas, etc. are regarded as crimes against humanity.

Mdm H.Yacob favours interparliamentary exchanges between Ukraine and Singapore at various levels to the benefit of the two friendly nations.
