On February 11, 2015 Ambassador of Ukraine to Singapore Pavlo Sultansky answered the question of CNBC Asia’s anchors in Capital Connection program.
In particular it was spoken about whether Minsk-2 results are expected to be optimistic, whether providing weapons to Ukraine by the West may help to stop the conflict with Russia, whether it would be better to continue strengthening economic pressure taking into account the danger of those weapons falling into the hands of terrorists, etc.
In response to these and other questions, the Ambassador said that it was never the weapon that put an end to the conflict but rather understanding achieved at the negotiations table. However, since motivation of the Russian aggression has the inner nature, Moscow is ready to be at war with the whole world in this way trying to save the situation inside the country and persuading own people that what it does is right. Thus the international pressure on Russia is justified: political, economic and military, that may hamper the aggressor. This time the Kremlin “appointed” Ukraine as an enemy causing huge losses for us, especially human losses. And while we value every human life Russia is not stopped by the human factor.
The heroism of Nadiya Savchenko was named as inspiring for Ukrainian in their fight against Russian invaders.
