On January 14-16, 2017 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin paid an official visit to the Republic of Singapore.
The visit coincided with the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between two countries.
The programme of the visit included meetings with the Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, as well as Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam.
During the meetings the Parties discussed regional as well as international situation in the view of latest global developments, looked into the process of reforms in Ukraine and explored ways of further strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Singapore.
Both Foreign Ministers have witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Singapore Cooperation Enterprise as well as the Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of education and science of Ukraine and the Agency for science, technology and research of the Republic of Singapore.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine also gave public lecture “The Challenges Ahead: Europe and the World” at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and met with political analysts of Singapore.
During his stay in Singapore Minister Klimkin also met with Ukrainian community of the City-state.
