Pavlo Sultansky, Ambassador of Ukraine inSingapore, called on Bilahari Kausikan, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, on 23 March 2012. Conversation took place amidst the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations establishment between our countries, which will be marked on 31 March.
The issues of meaningful events in Ukraine-Singapore relations, achievements and prospects of cooperation, in particular in the light of agreements reached during the visit of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to Singapore in March 2011 were raised. The Parties talked, inter alia, about further work on the elaboration of bilateral legal base, including the commencement of consultations on visa-free regime as well as about plans with regard to upcoming political exchanges.
It was stated that both Sides successfully cooperate at the multilateral level, having good tradition of mutual support in international organizations.
Permanent Secretary was informed about the commencement of work with the potential international observers at the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (the Parliament) to be held in the fall of 2012.
Particular attention was attached to the cultural issues. Singapore diplomat highly assessed conducting of the Exhibition of Ukrainian Jewelry in the National Museum of Singapore in May 2012.
Concluding the meeting, the Parties agreed that political dialogue, economic cooperation, humanitarian exchanges – all this witnesses mutually-beneficial perspective of Ukraine-Singapore friendly relations.
